Aged Care communication that follows the role, not the person.
Keep resident information moving across shifts, teams and services.
In aged care, the people providing care change throughout the day. Shifts change, agency and casual staff step in, and rsponsibility moves between teams. When communication relies on names, verbal handover or disconnected tools, important resident information can be delayed, missed or left with someone who has already clocked off.
Aged Care communication that follows the role, not the person.
Keep resident information moving across shifts, teams and services.
Care continues across every shift. Communicaiton should too.
Care continues across every shift. Communication should too.
Resident care depends on information moving with the people responsible for acting on it.
A wound needs reviewing. A resident’s behaviour changes. Someone deteriorates. An RN needs to be contacted. A task needs to be followed up on the next shift.
Verbal handover, paper notes, personal phone numbers and group chats can leave information fragmented when people and shifts change.
Baret helps staff securely share clinical information, carry forward outstanding messages and maintain context as responsibility moves from one shift to the next.
The person changes. The responsibility doesn't. Baret keeps the communication with it.
Built around the realities of aged care
Know who is responsible without needing to know their name
Baret’s Dynamic Directory shows who is currently clocked on to each role. Staff can find the role they need and communicate with the person covering it in real time, without relying on contact lists or institutional knowledge.
Maintain context when responsibility changes
Role-based message handover and structured shiftnotes help unresolved information continue to the next person taking responsibility, with visibility of what has been communicated, acknowledged and still needs attention.
Escalate a concern and know it was received
Baret supports message prioritisation, acknowledgement and configurable escalation workflows. Teams can see whether an important message has been received, while unacknowledged communication can be directed to alternate roles or escalated to Teams and phone calls.
Capture clinical images without putting then on a personal camera roll
Staff can securely capture and share images of wounds, skin tears and other clinical concerns without saving them to the device camera roll. Images can be sent to the relevant role within the communication workflow, keeping the clinical context together.
Connect communication across sites, services and care settings
Baret supports a consistent communication approach across residential facilities, community care teams, disciplines and multiple sites.
Its architecture can also support collaboration with other services and organisations involved in a resident’s care, helping information move between care settings.
Delivered through Microsoft Teams, Baret builds on an organisation’s existing Microsoft environment, security and identity capabilities.

Frequently Asked Questions.
Do users need to set up Baret accounts?
No. Baret uses single sign on so users will be logged in with their Microsoft 365 account and won’t have to authenticate separately.
How reliable is the Baret app?
Baret is built using Azure services, taking advantage of Microsoft’s fully managed platform with built-in infrastructure maintenance, security patching, and scaling.
How is Baret deployed?
Built on the Microsoft Teams extensibility framework, Baret is installed in your Microsoft 365 tenant as a Teams App and can be included in your Teams policies for permissions and setup. Supporting components are installed in your Azure tenancy.
How does Baret store data?
Baret is designed to use a combination of the existing capabilities of the Teams platform and Azure storage services and databases all hosted within your own Microsoft tenancy, following security best practice guidelines. You have complete control of your data.
Can more than one clinician clock on to the same role?
Yes – Baret is designed so that flexible work models can be supported. If you have a pool of clinicians supporting the same role, they can all clock on at the same time. Conversely, where a staff member needs to cover multiple roles, say overnight, they can do that too.
How is role information managed?
We understand that workforce management is complex and can change rapidly so Baret is designed so that supervisors and team leaders can self-manage the names of roles in their teams.
What is the notification experience for clinicians – do they get notifications on their lock screen?
Yes – Baret uses the notification framework built into Microsoft Teams, utilising priority and urgent messages where required to differentiate from other Teams messages.
